Tattoo removal with Passive Laser
This type of procedure is the cheapest there is when it comes to tattoo removal. The disadvantage of this type of technique is that the tattoo is not removed permanently, i.e. it will not disappear completely. Passive lasers can be found in many tattoo studios and even beauty salons.
Be wary when you come across beauty salons and tattoo parlors offering laser removal techniques. You may pay for an Active service and receive a Passive one, and you won't like the results. And as said before, passive lasers don't completely remove the tattoo.
Tattoo removal with Active Laser

Light colors such as yellow, green and red are not removed by the Q-switched Ruby laser.

Q-Switched Nd-YAG Laser
The big advantage that the Q-Switched ND-YAG Laser (1064 nm, 10 nanoseconds) has over other lasers is that it uses potassium titanium phosphate crystals in its wave, which doubles the frequency and range of the light beam.
In other words, compared to other lasers, ND-YAG can penetrate the deepest layers of the skin and remove almost any color of ink. It efficiently removes dark inks such as blue, gray and black, and the laser can also be used to remove tattoos with yellow, orange and red pigments.
Q-Switched Alexandrite Laser
The Q-Switched Alexandrite laser (755 nm, 100 nanoseconds) is effective at removing darker tattoo pigments, i.e. black and blue. It is also used to remove green pigments. In this case, mainly green, since these pigments are left behind with any other laser.
The Alexandrite laser is not very effective on light colors. With dark pigments, the results of the Alexandrite laser are surprising: studies show that in 8-9 sessions the patient has already had 95% of the tattoo removed from the skin.
